Breastfeeding Products for Moms with Spinal Cord Injuries

Universal/accessible design of the home from an occupational therapy and a construction perspective. This blog is part of a quest for cool, convenient, functional design that makes life safer, easier, and as maintenance-free as possible. It's about the lifestyle.

Breastfeeding is a challenge for most mothers, but for mothers with a spinal cord injury there are many issues that need to be addressed before even beginning to worry about the suck, swallow, breath sequence consequence.

Positioning a baby for breastfeeding when postural control is compromised requires positioning supports and possibly a lap tray. Here are three of our picks, if anyone knows of other products that assist with breastfeeding, please post we need suggestions. We're all in this together.

This pillow looks like it would give more support, but a lot of people say it's pretty soft (per the reviews).

This pillow gets good reviews, but honestly I'm a little worried about the way it wraps around the back.
